Genealogy is one of the basic source of knowing one’s blood line, clan, tribe and relation to one another as one race. It unites people of the land tracing their origin in one ancestry. It serves as a guide to the new generation and allows them to connect to historical events and people. The pursuit of tracing one’s lineage tends to be shaped by several motivations, including the desire to carve out place for one’s family in the large historical picture, a sense of responsibility to preserve the past for future generations, and a sense of self-satisfaction in accurate storytelling.
